JOB DESCRIPTION

Supervise/Assist in the cooking of guests breakfast, lunch and dinner/BBQ and staff lunch. Taking orders, serving customers, and preparing drinks. Promote a friendly environment within the kitchen, guests area and maintain a clean working environment. Assist ordering food, shopping, planning menu, controlling food supplies, budget and doing computer work when needed.

WORK LOCATION

Minakami, Gunma, Japan or Okutama, Tokyo, Japan

* Throughout the season, you may be rotated onto other locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Supervise/Assist cooking
● Take orders, serving customers
● Prepare drinks
● Clean and maintain the working area
● Observe all health department regulations
● Work as a shift cook in the schedule (8 hours between 6:00 am - 10:00 pm)
● Purchase and inventory food supplies
● Guests pick-up and drop-off when assigned.
● Provide excellent customer service
● Looks for ways to better serve the guest and the company, brings new ideas to management if it involves policy change.
● Maintains a good sense of humour and cooperative attitude in dealing with co-workers and guests.
● Is expected to behave in a professional manner at all times.
● Learn about the natural environment and history of the area and share knowledge with guests.
● Treats guests in a manner that makes them feel respected, valued, liked and cared for.
● Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Other duties may include helping other departments such as accommodation cleaning and guest services.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Evaluated on thoroughness in performing duties, attitude, punctuality, ability to operate as a team player, initiative, mature judgement, relationships with co-workers, management and guests, flexibility, and willingness to learn.

CONDITIONS

● No need experience in cooking but needs to be interested in food (at least likes eating)
● 18 years old or older
● Problem solving skills
● Communication skills
● Organization
● Be available to work a minimum of one summer season (April-September)
● Must be able to work weekends and holidays
● Have a professional attitude
● Work long hours and not be subject to burnout and moodiness
● Work well under pressure
● Be a team player
