Nozawa has something for everybody

Nozawa really does have something for everybody making the perfect destination for groups or families with mixed abilities. Beginners are well served with long, wide flat slopes. Park and pipe lessons take advantage of the well-shaped features and for those working on technique for steeps, moguls or powder they are spoilt for choice.

Bookings for the 2018-19 season will commence from October 1st 2018.

Private lesson

Private lessons will be customized to your needs.

Available at all levels and ages beginners to experts, children to adults.

Age (Ski): 3 years and older
Age (Snowboard): 6 years and older
Capacity: 1 - 8 people
Included: Lesson fee, lesson insurance
Not included: Lift tickets, Rental equipment, lunch

Price per instructor (Private lessons)

  • 5 hours  - 48,000 JPY (9:00-15:30)
  • AM 2 hours  - 24,000 JPY (9-11 OR 10 - 12)
  • Lunch 2 hours - 24,000 JPY (11:15-13:15
  • PM 2 hours - 20,000 JPY (13:45-15:45)
  • PM 3 hours - 30,000 JPY (12:45-15:45)
  • Extra hour - 10,000 JPY / 1 Hour
Important: Instructor numbers are limited, advance bookings are a must.

Group lesson

Group lessons are only available for Beginners.

    • Full day - 14,000 JPY / 4.5 Hours
    • Half day - 10,000 JPY / 2.5 Hours
    • Levels available: 1-4
  • Kids: (Ski only) ages 7-14
    • Full day - 15,000 JPY / 4.5 Hours + Lunch
    • Half day - 10,000 JPY / 2.5 Hours
    • Levels available: 1-5
  • Infants: (Ski only) ages 4-6
    • Full day - 17,000 JPY / 4.5 Hours + Lunch
    • Half day - 11,000 JPY / 2.5 Hours
    • Levels available: 1-4

Lesson Goals: Learn how to stop on both edges on the beginner run.

Current Ability: I am linking wedge turns on the beginner run.

Lesson Goals: Wedge turn on easy GREEN runs and ride a chairlift safely.

Current Ability: I can get up on my own, stop and sideslip on both edges on the beginner run.

Lesson Goals: Do a floating leaf, try C-shaped turns on a GREEN run and learn how to ride a chairlift.

Current Ability: I am comfortably wedge turning on GREEN runs  and can ride a chairlift.

Lesson Goals: Make my skis parallel at the end of the turn on GREEN runs and gain more confidence.

Current Ability: I can do a toe edge and heel edge C-shaped turn on GREEN runs.

Lesson Goals: Link C-turns confidently on easy GREEN runs after riding a chairlift and start to vary turn shape.

Current Ability: I am skiing faster, matching my skis in the middle of the turn on GREEN runs and I am ready for steeper GREEN or BLUE runs.

Lesson Goals: Keep my skis parallel all the time on challenging GREEN runs or BLUE runs

Current Ability: I can make varied turn shapes and sizes on GREEN runs consistently.

Lesson Goals: Confidently control my speed through turn shape on challenging GREEN runs or BLUE runs.

Current Ability: I can ski parallel and control speed with round turns on challenging GREEN runs or BLUE runs.

Lesson Goals: Try RED runs and become more confident on steeper terrain.

Current Ability: I am making smooth turns on challenging GREEN runs or BLUE runs.

Lesson Goals: Introduce RED runs and the option of entry level freestyle skills.

Current Ability: I can perform various turn shapes on challenging RED runs.

Lesson Goals: You will be working on advanced techniques such as moguls, carving, variable conditions, powder and freestyle on RED and BLACK runs.

Current Ability: I am comfortable on challenging RED runs.

Lesson Goals: You will be working on advanced techniques such as moguls, carving, variable conditions, powder and freestyle on RED and BLACK runs.

Equipment

Please arrange your own equipment, wear, cap or helmet, gloves, goggles and lift passes prior to lesson sign up
*Rental available at the resort for ski/board equipment and ski wear, including a wide range of demo equipment for higher level skiers/riders

Cancellation policy

■Cancellations made by customers (Includes decreasing booked numbers for group lesson)

15 - 7 days before: 20%

6-2 days before: 30%

day before:50%

on the day:100%

■Not showing at designated meeting time will be considered as on the day cancellation

For full day private lesson, personalised start times may be available upon request.

In some cases class age groups may be combined.

If a group lesson has less than 3 participants, they may be given the option to change to a private lesson (1 hour).
