Presentation on life in Japan & working in Nozawa

Yuzawa

Located only 70 mins from Tokyo, the town of Yuzawa is home to 8 different ski resorts offering some of the best powder, tree-runs and even parks that Japan has to offer. Based at GALA Yuzawa, Canyons Ski School offers lessons throughout all resorts in the area.

In contrast to its close proximity to one of the World’s most modern capital cities, Yuzawa has managed to retain the unique heritage and character that makes Japan such an interesting place. Onsen (Japanese Public Bath-house), Karaoke and Izakaya (Japanese style Bar/Restaurant) are great ways to experience the culture that the region has to offer. All levels of Instructors are welcome to apply and positions for Guest Services/Reception staff are also available.

Minakami

Another famous hot spring town, Minakami boasts 9 ski resorts and is home to one some of Japan's best BC terrain. The area is very popular with the Japanese market because of its proximity to Tokyo. (70mins by train) The resorts in the area are not the biggest but consistently rank in the top 10 in Japan for snowfall and lift waiting lines don't exist!

If you are experienced, independent and looking for a very "off the beaten path" real Japan experience then Minakami may be an option for you. Canyons mainly instruct at Hodaigi ski resort but also cater to all other resorts in the area. Our clients are a mix of international school groups and high-end privates.
